Beloved Comedian George Carlin has passed away.George Carlin Passed away at the age of 71 A publicist for George Carlin says the legendary comedian has died of heart failure at a hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. Carlin went into St. John's Health Center on Sunday afternoon, complaining of chest pain. Carlin died at 5:55 p.m. PDT. He was 71. Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. It was announced Tuesday that Carlin was being awarded the 11th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.


Soulja Boy plans to drop his second album, iSouljaBoy, in the fall. Finally after just Two years after the shooting death of T.I.'s childhood friend Philant Johnson, authorities in Cincinnati have arrested and indicted two men who allegedly committed the murderous act. Brothers Hosea and Padron Thomas were each charged with murder and seven counts of felonious assault stemming from the May 2006 incident. Police said the shooting was the result of a series of heated clashes between T.I.'s crew and the brothers, who were denied access to the rapper's VIP party.

George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic have fleshed out their upcoming summer trek. The jaunt kicks off July 5th in Nelson, Ohio, George Clinton all Funked up onstage.and is scheduled to wrap July 25th in Chicago, with several dates just added in the Northeast. In other touring news, Earth, Wind & Fire will be joined on their trek by Michael McDonald beginning Sept. 13th in Providence, Rhode Island


The Internet is abuzz over a leaked phone conversation in which former G-Unit rapper Young Buck breaks down and pleads with 50 Cent not to cut him from the group. This comes after Young was vocal about his displeasure with G-Unit in music videos and various online interviews. Legendary piano man Stevie Wonder will embark on a European tour in September for the first time in more than a decade. John Legend will receive the CARE Humanitarian Award for Global Change at the organization's gala event in Washington, D.C., on June 17. Another Marvin Gaye biopic currently is in development, with filmmaker F. Gary Gray set to direct and songwriter-musician David Foster on board as a producer. The film, titled Marvin, will chronicle Marvin's life from his early days at Motown Records to his April 1, 1984, death. Contrary to widespread reports, Lil Flip was not in a car accident earlier this week. The Houston rhyme-slinger's manager Sandy Lal has shot down a press release which stated that Lil' Flip born Wesley Eric Weston on Mar 3rd 1981 in Houston TX. Amid the flourishing underground rap scene of Houston, Lil' Flip rose to quick and prosperous fame after his independently released 2000 album The Leprechaun broke through to a national audience, prompting the young rapper's signing to Universal Records soon after. Nicknamed the Freestyle King, Flip as a teen initially won the attention of the immortalized DJ Screw, who ushered the rapper into his loose-knit Screwed Up Click. The affiliation brought instant respect for Flip throughout Texas as well as the greater South, and his Leprechaun album capitalized on that, moving an impressive number of units for an independently released album. a Tuesday car wreck resulted in the rhyme-spitter being hospitalized with minor neck and wrist injuries. "Lil Flip was not involved in any accident," Sandy tells AllHipHop.com. "He's very healthy [and] just returned from overseas touring."

Since announcing the launch of Nappy Boy Records, his own digital label, T-Pain has tapped rapper Tay Dizm as his flagship artist for the imprint. The Miami rapper is racking MySpace hits with his new single, "Beam Me Up" (featuring T-Pain and Rick Ross). "It's been tearing up the Internet," says T-Pain. Other artists on the label include rap upstart Young Cash, R&B loverman Jay Lyriq and the "Super Bad" R&B female trio Sophia Fresh.


Grammy-winning songbirds Patti Austin and Siedah Garrett have teamed up to record an all-female version of Quincy Jones' ballad "The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite)." The original song featured R&B singers Al B. Sure!, James Ingram, El DeBarge and Barry White. The ladies are now searching for two more divas to complete the quartet. "Give me Jill Scott and Angie Stone and we are set to go," exclaims Siedah.

Kelsey Grammer suffered a mild heart attack on Saturday, but is resting comfortably at a Honolulu hospital and is expected to be released later this week. The star of TV hits "Frasier" and "Cheers" experienced symptoms Saturday morning after paddleboarding with his wife Camille, while near their home on the Big Island off Hawaii's Kona coast. He was immediately taken to a hospital where it was determined he had suffered a mild heart attack, the spokesperson said. He was then flown to another hospital in Honolulu.


The sister of Florence Ballard is campaigning to have the late Supremes star's body exhumed and new tests run in an attempt to prove that her 1976 death was the result of something other than a cardiac problem. "My sister was healthy, she was happy . . . and she had big plans for the future," insists Maxine Ballard Jenkins. "I don't believe that she died of natural causes . . . I believe that she was killed."
