Kanye Photo Caption
Sir Kanye West surprised some during the Red Cross a thon for relief in the French Quarter.  Not so much here, for anyone who knows the man knows he speaks knowledge far exceeding his years.  From whence I speak is the surprising outburst when he came clean with his feelings about Bush and his administration. He felt the media in the whole did not treat persons of color well in the press, which should not be a surprise.  What is a surprise is that he was cut off, mid rant while making perfect sense.  He was visibly upset as many who visited the site have been.  Kanye West, who caused a politically-incorrect firestorm when he said Friday, "George Bush doesn't care about black people," will remain on the bill for Thursday’s concert outside the Los Angeles Coliseum as part of the league's season-opening celebration show, which will be broadcast by ABC.  The conditions (New Orleans) are astounding (if that is the word) and I myself was out of commission, but heard about the problems, unlike most, I was not near a TV or newspaper, but heard whispers.  I was amazed at the people who have gone down to help from Oprah to John Travolta (who by the way flew down at his own expense, great expense mind you if you have seen the gauge) with 5 tons of food, and medical supplies with his wife actress Kelly Preston to help out with the efforts of the red cross.  The couple also brought along 400 doses of tetanus vaccines for rescuers, and said he was coordinating with Oprah Winfrey to get even more relief for more than one million people affected by Hurricane Katrina.  The two then toured the flooded city of New Orleans.  Oprahs Angel Network donated one million dollars to the relief effort.  Macy Grey came down and helped out.  Even Our favorite Canadian singer sounded out about the governments horrible efforts.  Giving large amounts of money and time the entertainment industry has come out strong, Harry Connick Jr, sang a song to raise money for the effort. I like many in the entertainment field as if you could give clothes, food, money to the Red Cross and other organizations to help us in the effort.  Harry has a lot of family for New Orleans and being from New Orleans, his father still living there took a vested interest in what is happening.  Harry even gave the shirt off his very back to help his fellow New Orlean. Michael Jackson hoped to record the track - tentatively titled From the Bottom of My Heart - with other artists and release it as a charity single.  Many corporations also are striving to match dollar for dollar that you spend, indulge them.  From the looks of it, our people out there (Americans) need our help.  Volunteer if you can to collect, I have and many college campuses are also collecting too.  Bless you all for looking at this and donating, if you cant bless you too.  I know that the coverage has been much, but there is a lot going on, so please give...

Rihanna has been coming up on the charts bringing a new face into the fold.  With her new reggae hit "Pon De Replay" and her other hit "If It's Lovin' That You Want".

This very sexy soul singer has the range and the drive to become one of the hot new singers in the R&B/reggae arena in.  We should be keeping an eye out for this young woman who will a hot ticket in 2005.  We wish her luck and a new music spotlight.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Oscar-winning actor

Nicolas Cage's wife of 14 months gave birth on Monday to the couple's first child together, a son they named Kal-el -- a moniker recognized by comic book fans as the birth name of Superman.  The child's delivery in New York City and his full name, Kal-el Coppola Cage, were confirmed by the actor's publicist, Annett Wolf, who said of the family, "They are healthy and happy and it's quite lovely."  on the subject of the TV show "Smallville", both the season finale and the new season opener had so many people on the edges of the seats.  Can't wait to see what this season brings to the WB.

 The ever cool Lil'Kim went into jail on September 19th for her problems stemming from lying on the stand for her friends for the drama that unfolded at Hot 97s studio, actually down the street.  She was with family as she surrendered and went in.  For more on the story check out;

Remember September 11th is this Sunday, take time to remember your friends, neighbors and loved ones, it is a time to reflect and hope for more in this lifetime.  I was saddened at the thought of so many dying in New Orleans from a natural disaster, to so many dying from a man made one.  I am a NYer, am a survivor, since I was supposed to be in a meeting there but was called away to other things.  I will miss those towers, and the people lost, whether I knew them or not, for I could have been besides them now.  May you rest in peace.

The Dj's of Sure Record Pool was out and showing their skills in the annual West Indian Parade in Brooklyn NY.  It was a nice day, full of fun and merriment.  If you was out there you got taste great food, it is the fifth largest parade, actually it is the largest parade in the borough of Brooklyn.  The Caribbean's that come from many islands to celebrate and enjoy.  Even though there was a shooting, one person died, it was a beautiful day.  The performances are usually great and full of dancing in the street. It did not matter if you was from Barbados, Cuban, Jamaican, Puerto Rica, or from Hati, they all was out there having fun for the most part. Of course there was some problems but for the most part a good day. Not to make light of the person shot that day.  Usually a great time had by all.  It is like a crop over-jump contest held here in NY.  Oh what a day...

Jay Z in a related story to Kanye, backed Kanye's statements in a Billboard interview in London.  Jay was also disappointed in the Governments slow response to the victims of Katrina.  Rapper Kanye West's recent unscripted speech about the government's relief efforts have prompted many to question the role race plays during the relief operations. Since Kanye was not the only one to sound off, we have to mention our Canadian songstress (Celine Dion) also got on the government also for its response to this disaster.

Suge Knight was released from a Florida hospital.  l after following treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg that he suffered a star studded party prior to MTV's Video Music Awards 2005.  Knight is the founder of Death The Event held host to stars like Jessica Alba, Eddie Murphy, Paris Hilton, Black eyed Peas and the Game. Miami Police have made no arrests at this time.  Knight underwent surgery to remove the bullet from his leg and repair a fractured bone.

Sheryl Crow is now engaged to Lance Armstrong (Tour de France Champion).  Lance announced the engagement on Monday the 5th while they were chillin in Sun Valley, Idaho.  No date was set according to them but who knows.  It is Lances second marriage, Sheryl's first one.  His first Kristin wife bore 3 kids.

Blast from the past - Ricky Martin has been blazing up the charts lately with his new video (I don't care), which is burning up the charts.  After taking a long break from singing the flourishing artist is hitting the ground running.  Even fat Joe, lends his skills to this hot video.  Ricky has never been one to sit on his laurels too long, so this has not come as a surprise, but a long awaited promise.  Ricky Martin was one of the biggest teen idols in Latin America during the '90s. A lead singer of Menudo, Martin was blessed with good looks and a nice voice, which helped him become a Latin music star. He also became an actor, earning praise from the Mexican motion picture industry and starring on the American soap opera General Hospital, where he played Miguel Morez, a bartender who sings on the weekend.  Another group that has surprised us was the Backstreet Boys glazing with a new track that you must check out.  This group has refused to fall by the race that, they just came out with this new set of songs that has also been long-awaited.  We have to see what is in store for the future for both artists since taking a long hiatus from the music world.  AJ from the Backstreet Boys, hasn't yet been working for a while singing, has worked on Jesse McCartney's new record,  "Only you".
