Beginning Saturday July
2-7th, XM Satellite Radio will encore the best performances and interviews from
its comprehensive Live 8 coverage in "Live 8 Replay Weekends." Included are
performances and backstage interviews from Black Eyed Peas, Destiny's Child,
Jay-Z, Joss Stone, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg and Stevie Wonder. The Live

The Welsh singer Shirley Bassey, famous for her diva demands during concerts, says she must bow down to the diva queen, Ms. Mariah Carey. Taking note of Mimi’s backstage behavior at last Saturday’s Live 8 concert in London, Bassey said: "She gets her dressing room repainted! I would never do that. What proper singer would?" But Shirley, no one likes you, Mimi we do like... Anyway the Welsh wonder was talking much out her yapper to the press...

Meanwhile,
reps for Justin Timberlake and Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs are now saying that the two
were never actually confirmed to perform at Live 8 Philadelphia, despite being
announced in promotional materials for the humanitarian concert. Timberlake's
spokesperson tells the New York Daily News: "His name was being bandied about,
but he never agreed to anything. He was in the One ad campaign (to fight African
poverty), and that was it." Despite the press release of an apology from Combs’
camp regarding his inability to make the gig, a source close to him said: "Puffy
expressed interest in the event, but they never got back to him about it."
Robbie Williams songwriting partner Guy Chambers teamed with Beverly Knight to perform 'Angels' while Live 8 co-founder Midge Ure of Ultravox fame gathered the crowd to sing 'Flower of Scotland'. Ure also spoke out about this week's riot outside the G8 summit. He labeled the protestors "terrorists". Live 8 was set up to proceed the G8 summit featuring 8 of the world's leaders. Bob Geldof and Midge Ure are asking the leaders to forgive African debt.
Pink Floyd's David Gilmour has urged artists who performed at Live 8 and profited by increased record sales to donate the money they made to charity. Gilmour, who saw sales of the Pink Floyd 'Echoes' increase by more than 1300% the day after Live 8 told the BBC I will not profit from the concert. This is money that should be used to save lives." The BBC reports The Who's "Then & Now" had a good increase of 863%, Annie Lennox's "Eurythmics Greatest Hits" went up 500% and Dido's "Life For Rent" increased 412%. Only one act had less sales than the previous week. That was Pete Doherty whose last album with the Libertines dropped 35% after Live 8. Doherty also had what critics called one of the worst performances with the Mirror calling his duet version of the T. Rex classic 'Children of the Revolution' with Elton John "shambolic".
